Description

BARREL-SHAPED POINT SPACER

A point spacer is a professional-grade spacer made of plastic based on colored polystyrene.

It is stable and resistant to tipping or cracking!

Designed to provide stable support for horizontal reinforcement. It allows for the safe use of reinforcing bars with diameters ranging from 6 to 14 mm.

Key product advantages

  • Multiple concrete cover options in a single component: the well-thought-out design allows for various concrete cover thicknesses (from 15 to 50 mm), depending on the specific type of spacer used and how it is positioned on the surface and oriented relative to the reinforcement.
  • Wide range of compatible bars: the spacer is designed to accommodate reinforcing bars with diameters from 6 mm to 14 mm.
  • Versatile installation: the spacers can be used with any type of formwork.
  • Secure reinforcement support: the appropriate thickness and shape of the spacer ensure good concrete flow and stability during placement.

Application

  • Support for horizontal reinforcement: spacing and supporting the bottom layers of reinforcing bars in flat reinforced concrete elements.
  • Slabs and plates: ideal for use in the construction of reinforced concrete slabs, foundation slabs, and screeds.
  • Various types of formwork: can be securely installed on any type of formwork (traditional timber formwork, panel formwork, or modular/system formwork).
  • Different bar diameters: designed for use with reinforcing bars ranging from 6 mm to 14 mm in diameter.

Installation method

  1. Before placing the spacers, thoroughly clean the formwork surface of any debris or dirt.
  2. Taking into account the required concrete cover thickness, position the spacer on the surface with the appropriate side facing down.
  3. Place the reinforcing bar into the specially designed groove on the spacer.
  4. According to the manufacturer's recommendations, the average consumption is 5–10 units per m² of formwork surface.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

1. How should the spacer be positioned to achieve the desired concrete cover thickness?

Achieving a specific concrete cover thickness is very simple; it just requires orienting the spacer correctly on the formwork:

  • Rotating the spacer: The spacer has an asymmetrical design—its various sides and faces have different dimensions. By placing the element on the formwork on the appropriate side, you determine the thickness of the concrete cover.
  • Dedicated recesses: The reinforcing bar is placed into a pre-formed recess in the profile. Combining a specific side of the spacer with the appropriate recess provides a precise dimension.
  • Selecting a variant: The available height ranges depend on the chosen size:
    • Universal Barrel: provides a concrete cover of 15, 20, 25, or 30 mm
    • Small Barrel: provides a concrete cover of 15, 20, or 25 mm
    • Medium Barrel: provides a concrete cover of 20, 25, 30, or 35 mm
    • Large Barrel: provides a concrete cover of 35, 40, 45, or 50 mm

Before installing the reinforcement, simply check the required concrete cover thickness in the project specifications, rotate the barrel to the appropriate side, and place the rebar into the corresponding recess.

2. For which reinforcing bars is this point spacer suitable?

The spacer allows for the positioning of reinforcing bars with diameters ranging from 6 mm to 14 mm.

3. On what types of formwork can this spacer be used?

The spacers can be installed on any type of formwork.
