Description

CROSSHEAD WITH ANGLE BRACKET 20 cm

The 20 cm crosshead with an angle bracket is an essential structural component used in slab formwork systems.

Its primary function is to provide stable support and a secure connection between wooden formwork beams (H20 type) and slab props.

Thanks to its robust construction—made of corrosion-protected steel—it ensures long-lasting durability on the construction site.

Key advantages and functionality

  • Stable attachment: the design, consisting of a solid plate, a central pin, and four angle brackets, secures the beams in place, preventing them from shifting or rotating.
  • Versatile connection: due to its well-thought-out structure and the width of its prongs, it can accommodate a single beam; by rotating the head 90 degrees, it can support two beams simultaneously.
  • Anti-corrosion protection: the galvanized surface effectively protects the component against moisture and weather conditions.
  • Compatibility: perfectly suited for standard slab props and H20 timber beams.

Installation method for the head

  1. Prepare the slab prop by adjusting its height according to the project specifications.
  2. Insert the tube (spigot) of the head into the central opening in the top plate of the formwork prop and secure it with a locking pin if necessary.
  3. Position the head beneath the junction of the H20 beams, ensuring it is oriented correctly.
  4. Secure the beams, ensuring they are positioned evenly within the retaining angle brackets.
  5. At points where beams cross or join, rotate the head to allow for the stable installation of both components.
  6. simultaneously.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

1. Does the cross-head with an angle bracket fit all types of slab props?

The head is designed for standard formwork systems. It features a 28.5 mm diameter stem, making it compatible with most props available on the market.

2. How many formwork heads are needed for a slab formwork system?

When preparing slab formwork, it is crucial to accurately estimate the number of heads required. The basic rule is simple: one construction prop requires one head.

  • Standard spacing: slab props are typically installed at intervals of approximately 2 meters; in practice, this means more than 100 props (and, consequently, 100 heads) for every 100 m² of slab.
  • Project-specific requirements: the final number of components depends on the thickness of the slab and the structural engineer's specifications. Therefore, it is advisable to consult an architect or the formwork system supplier regarding your calculations.
  • Keep a reserve: for larger projects, it is worth ordering extra spare heads. This will help you avoid unnecessary downtime and delays on the construction site.
